
How to get to Great Amwell
The village is located just over a mile from Ware, two miles from Hoddesdon and four miles from the county town of Hertford via the B1502.
Great Amwell is about 25 miles north of central London and lies just off the A1170. It is close to the A10 arterial route and just eight miles from the M25. The Essex town of Harlow is just seven miles away via the A414.
Great Amwell is easy to find:

From the South East
Leave the M25 at junction 25 to join the A10 north (Cambridge), exiting the A10 at the junction of the A414. From the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A1170 the take the first right into Cautherly Lane. -
From the South West
Leave the M25 at junction 21a to join the A405, then the A414 to Hatfield and on through Hertford. Turn right onto the A10 and take the next ext (A414 continues.) From the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A1170 the take the first right into Cautherly Lane. -
From the North
Leave the A10 at the junction of A414 to Ware. From the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A1170 the take the first right into Cautherly Lane. -
From the East
Via the M11 leave at junction 7 (Harlow) for the A414 to Hertford. Follow the A414 to the junction of the A1170 and take the third exit on the roundabout to A1170. Take the first right into Cautherly Lane.
